Bangladeshi Student Association (BDSA) is a close-knit community of students at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities who are enthusiastic about promoting and nurturing Bangladeshi culture on campus. BDSA, through its various cultural activities and newsletters, strives to promote awareness about the culture and traditions of Bangladesh in the Twin Cities campus. It fosters bonding among students from various parts of the globe but who can trace their ancestry to Bangladesh. It also provides an opportunity to all interested in Bangladeshis to meet with others having similar interests and voice their opinions, thereby develop leadership and individual quality among members through on campus involvement and programs.
As our mission suggests, we strive to promote awareness about the culture and traditions of Bangladesh on campus and foster bonding among students from various parts of the globe, encircling Bangladesh. As an affiliate of Minnesota International Students Association (MISA) committed to enhancing international awareness and providing support through events and programs, we strongly believe we can lend an efficient cultural hand. As more and more Bangladeshi students are joining the U, BDSA continuously provides an opportunity to all students, both from and outside the country, to participate in traditional events and get a sense of the rich diversity of Bengali heritage. Our goals also include organizing different events including the celebration of Eid, Pohela Boisakh (Bengali New Year), Pohela Falgun with distribution of traditional Bangladeshi food. We also look forward to work together on occasions of other cultural festivals of different student organizations, celebrating their respective cultures.
