West Regional Championships
Walnut, California December 6, 2025
(9th - 12th grade only)
VERNAL RUNNING CLUB is planning to take a bus to California for the Brooks XC West Regional Championships. All schools from the Uintah Basin & Carbon High are invited to attend. This year it will be hosted in Walnut, California. We have approximately 48 seats on the bus, so please review this information as soon as possible. Call Tyler Hill at (435) 724-3300 for further information. Seats will fill up fast this year so please make sure and get your deposit in ASAP!
Bus Leaves: Wednesday December 3, 2024 the Vernal Group will leave from Jiffy Pawn at 8:00 a.m. Sharp!!! Please be ready and on time. Based on those traveling with us we will make necessary stops between Vernal, Roosevelt, Duchesne, Heber & Provo. We will then continue on to Walnut, California with an overnight stop in Mesquite, Nevada. Complete Trip Itinerary will be sent out by email. Please provide a current email address.
Bus Returns: Sunday December 7th at approximately 5-6 pm
Hotels: We will be staying in Mesquite, Nevada the first night (Wed) and on the return trip on Saturday. On Thursday & Friday we will be staying in Walnut, California. We should arrive in Walnut at about 1 p.m. on Thursday. Hotels phone #’s will be provided on the Trip Itinerary.

Race Entry’s: Part of your fees will cover your Race Entry Fee. Coach Hill will handle all registrations for the race.
Clothing: Weather in Walnut is about 50 to 70 degrees; great running weather! It does rain there some so be prepared for that Weather. Getting to California can be extremely cold so bring extra clothing.
Behavior: Since there is such a large group, we will expect your best behavior. There will be 8 coaches and parents supervising on the trip to give you all the help you might need. The coaches are looking out for the best interests of the group collectively and individually. We want you to have fun, but make sure that your fun is appropriate!
Cost: Cost for transportation, Hotel & Race Registration is a total of $400 ($300 Athlete + $100 Non-Refundable - Deposit/Donation). Make checks payable to the Vernal Running Club or pay on Venmo (Pay to: vernalrunningclub@gmail.com or @Tyler-Hill-172) Athletes will be responsible for 10+ meals and spending money.
Money: You are required to provide a $100.00 Non-Refundable Donation/deposit to secure your spot & an additional $300 by the final deadline.
Deadline: $100 Sponsor/Deposit (non refundable) will be due by September 15, 2025, and Complete payment and all remaining fees will be due by October 15, 2025.
Donations: If you have any companies or know parents that would like to donate to help cut the cost for each individual athlete. The Vernal Running Club is a Non-Profit organization and can provide a W-9 if needed. The more money that can be raised the lower the cost becomes for each athlete. If you know anyone that is interested please have them contact Tyler Hill (435) 724-3300 or make checks payable to Vernal Running Club.
