Phillip Gotobed- President
Phillip Gotobed is studying Electrical Engineering and is a junior at the University of Arizona. Rube Goldberg is one of his favorite parts of the university because it allows people studying anything to work together on one incredible project. Outside of school Phillip serves as the Southwest Regional Coordinator for the Brony Thank You Fund, a charity organization. In any free time he might have Phillip enjoys playing the occasional video game with his friends, coding interesting things, and reading a good book. When he graduates Phillip hopes to enter industry and get a chance to work on exciting projects.
Savannah Sanchez- Vice President
Savannah Sanchez is a junior in mechanical engineering. The thing she loves most about UofA Rube is spending her Saturdays building an amazing machine with funny, cheerful people. When she's not building with Rube she can still be found in the Rube room or with SHPE. After she graduates she HOPES to find a job...
Lilly Truong- Treasurer
Lilly Truong is a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a Math minor. Her favorite thing about UA Rube is that everyone is involved, no one is left out in creating this machine. Apart from Rube Goldberg, she is involved with Robogals, SHPE, and ASME. When she wants to get away from academics, she can be found at an archery range with Wildcat Archery or on her own. After she graduates, she hopes to enter the industry and work on the medical side or aeronautical side of her degree.
Grace Ritchey- Historian
Grace Ritchey is an enthusiastic sophomore studying Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. This is her second year with the club, and she can't wait to see what these crazy people do next. In her spare time, Grace enjoys reading, running, and making stuff with duct tape. One day, she hopes to be one of the people that makes space tourism viable and fun, or to go to Mars, because that would be cool, too.
Kristi Wagner- Secretary
Kristi Wanger is a sophomore studying optics. During the day she is Rube Goldberg's very own Secretary and at night she is a party animal. She so happens to wear a panda suit to parties, not literally. Next time you go to a party, invite Kristi.
Fabian Medina- Webmaster
Fabian Medina is a Mechanical Engineering Major studying at the University of Arizona for his second year. Fabian is also involved in many extracurricular activities like Rube, obviously. If you want to try to find him, you won't be able to, because he constantly tries to find unique ways to be avoided. If you really really want to find him, he can be found at the Engineering and Science Library doing tons of homework, so try not to interrupt him. Fabian is not the most interesting mechanic in the world, but he definitely is runner-up in that category.
Albert Reiber- Build Leader
Albert is a second year member of the UofA Rube Goldberg team. He is a junior at the U of A and is pursuing a science degree with SISTA as well as an arts degree studying in the Humanities College. What Albert enjoys most about this club is having the ability to create a complex and ridiculous machine in the name of friendly competition with a group of great people.
Ben Schifman- Officer in Training
Benjamin Schifman is a sophomore studying Electrical engineering at the University of Arizona. He is excited to assist in the creation of a Rube Goldberg machine, and he is looking forward to learning many new things from his participation in the club. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis, Ping-Pong, and reading.
Claire Tritz
Claire, a Junior double degree in Biosystems Engineering and Environmental Hydrology, with a minor in Spanish, is an avid Rube Goldberg machine addict (because who doesn't like using power tools to build awesome machines from scratch?) When not in class or at Rube, Claire works in a water chemistry lab. She been dating groundwater for over a year now, so you could say it's getting pretty serious. It may even lead to being a water resources engineer after graduation.
Ximena Rumen
Ximena Ruden is a sophomore majoring in physics and minoring in math at the University of Arizona. She credits her high school's FIRST Robotics Team Las Guerrillas for getting her interested in building things. What she enjoys most about the Rube Goldberg Machine Club is yardsaling, finally getting a step to work, and being around such fun and interesting people. She is looking forward to her second year in the club. She is also a member of the Astronomy Club. When not busy with the above, Ximena enjoys reading, exploring, and making artwork.
Jake Rochester
Jacob Rochester is a moderately awesome junior striving to become super mega awesome. It's no easy task doubling in Materials Engineering and Computer Science, but he is determined to make his last two years at U of A far better than the first two. Let's see if it works. In his off time, Jacob enjoys running, hiking, gaming, and, of course, helping build the Rube Goldberg machine.
Justin Carlson
Justin Carlson is a sophomore at the University of Arizona studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. Having started with an interest in robots in his youth, Justin now endeavors to earn his degree so that he can work on the creation of autonomous systems in the future with companies such as Boston Dynamics. He joined the Rube Goldberg club to have more opportunities to use his creative ideas to help the team and has since made numerous friends and memories. This year he looks forward to an amazing year with Rube and getting one step closer to the robot apocalypse.
Vicent Tso
Vincent Tso is a freshman currently majoring in Biomedical Engineering. His passions include (but are not limited to) video gaming, hanging out with the friends, actually studying, chillin' out maxin, relaxing all cool, and generating tons of swag.
Bryce Royball
Bryce Royball is a freshman studying Chemical Engineering. He is a native Arizonan and lived in Gilbert AZ prior to moving to Tucson to attend the U of A. The thing about the Rube club he is most excited about is the opportunity to apply why his skills in a fun and creative way. In his spare time he likes to watch Netflix, listen to music and read fantasy books.
Zach Peters
Zachary Peters is a strapping young architecture student with big dreams. His favorite thing about Rube is the magic that comes with giving old junk new life. Zachary enjoys building with his hands whether it be pottery, origami, duct tape art, painting, figure drawing, carpentry... When he is not in school, he can be found fixing pianos, playing his accordion or guitar, running or hiking, and pretty much any obscure thing you can think of.
Lorelei Wong
Lorelei Wong is a freshman in the College of Engineering and intends to major in mechanical engineering. After making a Rube Goldberg machine last year with her senior AP Physics C class, she is excited to be a part of the club this year and hopes to have a good experience, while meeting some already very interesting people. Over the summer she worked as a waitress by the pool, but likes to spend her free time playing a range of different sports, hanging out with friends, and making tons of food.
Gerardo Perez
"Jerry," as he prefers to be called, is a freshman mechanical engineer at the University of Arizona and a member of the Honors College. The Rube Goldberg Club first caught his attention as a club that might be worth looking into but after the first meeting he knew this was where he wanted to develop his technical skills as an engineer. His favorite part of the Rube Club so far is the fascinating and quirky people that populate the organization. When not pedaling faster than an Olympic cyclist when he's late for class or desperately trying to finish the twelfth assignment due that day, Jerry enjoys helping the residents of his dorm, watching Doctor Who and anime, and much more.
Jordan Trujillo
Jordan Trujillo is a Sophomore studying Aerospace Engineering. Some of his favorite things about this club are the power tools, the people, and how the two of these come together to create the beautiful monstrosity that our machine. Some of his favorite things are playing games (whether it be of the vidya, board, or sport varieties), chillin' with buds, and most importantly, wearing copious (and we mean COPIOUS) amounts of orange clothing.
Patrick Portier
Patrick Portier is a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering and double minoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Math. This is his second year with the club and is ready for another great year. Outside of school, Patrick enjoys playing recreational sports, such as soccer and Ultimate Frisbee, and hanging out with friends. After graduation Patrick hopes to enter industry working in the alternative energy field designing wind turbines.
Benjamin Horn
Benjamin Horn is a senior at the University of Arizona pursuing double degrees in German Studies and Biology. The most important thing about Rube Goldberg for Benjamin is being able to explore a field that is different from his majors. Outside of school, Benjamin volunteers with the National Cancer Society, Camp Wildcat, VOX, and College Ambassadors. In his free time, Benjamin enjoys back packing through canyons in northern and southern Arizona. Benjamin is currently applying to Doctor of Osteopathy schools across the States, as well as becoming a Fulbright Fellow.
Jeremy Deutsch
Jeremy Deutsch might be a junior in his second year with UofA Rube Goldberg. Then again, we might have just found this photo of an astonishingly handsome young gentleman and decided it would look good in our website. It's up to interpretation. Hypothetically, Jeremy would find great pleasure in the industrial design-focused aspects of Rube.
Joshua Paul
Joshua Paul is Senior at the University of Arizona, pursuing a degree in Materials Science and Engineering. He is currently conducting research in salt synthesis and micro-crack propagation in silicon wafers, but in his free time he enjoys hiking and camping in the woods. His favorite part of Rube Goldberg is collaborating with others to create a functioning machine out of raw materials, synthesizing the ideas of all members along the way. Once he graduates, Joshua hopes to pursue a PhD in Materials Science and afterward work at a national lab.
Patrick Hughes
Patrick Hughes is a senior studying Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. His favorite part about UA Rube is developing new members from inexperienced novices to veteran machine experts. Outside of the build room, Patrick is participating in a research project aimed at developing a floor anchorage system that will mitigate seismic damage in buildings. In his free time, you can find Patrick racking up honorable kills in World of Warcraft, playing poker with his friends, or reacquainting himself with a good book and a cup of tea. After graduation, Patrick hopes to pursue a PhD in Earthquake Engineering.

Alexandra is a junior in aerospace engineering with a minor in French. Her favorite part of rube is getting to see the creation of something so awesome from nothing. Outside of Rube, she is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and during the summer she interns for Intel. She hopes to study abroad in the near future and work in industry after she graduates in 2017.
