Official Club Officers

Bryce Royball - President

Bryce Royball is a sophomore studying Chemical Engineering here at the University of Arizona. He is a native of Arizona and used to live in Gilbert before moving down to Tucson for college. Bryce's favorite thing about the Rube Goldberg club is that it is a wonderful opportunity to be wacky and creative and it is an excuse to spend time with some of the greatest people on campus. In addition to being the President of the Rube Goldberg club Bryce also works as a math and science tutor for the Think Tank. In his free time he enjoys watching Netflix, playing puzzle games and reading books.

Gerardo Perez - Vice President

Hey! How's it going? His name's Jerry, but Shinigami, Sensei, Senpai, Buddha, and El Jefe also work. Jerry is a Sophomore 1.5 majoring in Mechanical Engineering, as in making sure that parts that should move do and parts that shouldn't don't (Duct Tape and WD40, every time, all the time). His hobbies include reading, playing video games, anime, magic, black magic, white magic, demon taming, angel charming, global domination, stopping Armageddon, enforcing Time Laws, and making tea. When he is not in the Rube Room (read "Secret HQ"), you can find him on the 5th floor of the library doing homework or barreling through pedestrians on his bike while on his way to class.

Grace Ritchey - Treasurer

Grace is the annoying one who thinks she knows everything and sometimes actually does. She is a junior majoring in aerospace and mechanical engineering and in her third year with her favorite club - SWE. But honestly, Grace's favorite part of Rube is seeing scraps of wood and random junk become a creative, beautiful, semi-coherent piece of art. Her favorite tool might be a ratcheting Phillip's head screwdriver, or it might be a paintbrush. This year she is drawing from her experience of budgeting for a creepy doll collection and hiding skeletons in closets as this year's treasurer. LLAP.

Ben Barnett - Officer in Training

Ben Barnett is a freshman at the University of Arizona and is studying engineering. This is his first year in UA Rube and he is very excited about the upcoming year. He likes to play tennis and ping pong. Up until this year he lived in Phoenix.

Dane Zambrano - Secretary

Dane Zambrano is an uncommon name among female peasants. She is from the Philippines and moved to Europe at a young age because her mother was a travel nurse. Dane got to learn four different languages starting from her youth: Ilocano and Tagalog are her first languages native to the Philippines, after moving to Europe she learned English and French. She currently has ambitions to learn a fifth language - maybe German. She is studying Biochemistry and Neuroscience at the University of Arizona and says that in time, "[she] will be the next Hokage, believe it". She plans to go apply med school in San Francisco, California after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree so that she can be a pretentious driver and surfer.

Fabian Medina- Webmaster

Fabian Medina is a junior of the University of Arizona trying to major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Mathematics. Fabian is involved in many other extracurricular activities like Rube, SASE, SHPE, Think Tank, etc. Fabian is not the most interesting mechanic in the world, but he definitely is runner-up in that category. Especially since he fought a FURocious teddy bear while hiking Mount Everest for the 10th time. Don't believe it, well he has the crutches and bite marks to prove it. If you see him without crutches that just shows how mentally strong he is by putting up with the pain... enough said!

Official Members

Claire Tritz

Claire, a senior pursuing a double degree in Bio systems Engineering and Environmental Hydrology, with a minor in Spanish, is an avid Rube Goldberg machine addict (because who doesn't like using power tools to build awesome machines from scratch?) When not in class or at Rube, Claire is also active in Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. She also has been researching methods of dating groundwater for over two years now (so you could say it's a pretty serious relationship now). After graduating in May, Claire is going to be starting a full-time position as a water resources engineer at CH2M.

Phillip Gotobed

Phillip Gotobed is studying Computer and Electrical Engineering and is a senior at the University of Arizona pursuing his master's degree with which he will graduate in the spring of 2017. A member of Rube Goldberg since 2012 it is his favorite club since it brings together dozens of disciplines on to one outstanding project. Outside of school Phillip has worked on his own coding and electrical projects (as well as some more unrelated projects; building a boat was fun) as well as worked with charity, leadership, and community outreach events. If he has free time he enjoys playing games of all types, outdoor adventures, and reading; which in turn inspires his next project. In addition Phillip works part time at the Large Binocular Telescope as a student engineer.

Gaffney Flancer

Guten tag, Ich heiße Gaffney Flancer! He is an adorable freshman and dual Japanese and linguistics major. While not roaming the earth in pursuit of Godzilla, he enjoys systematically eliminating time spent outside per day, and he is currently one half of three percent of one nineteenth done with beginning their underground tunnel. If you have any information pertaining to the location of Godzilla, or if you would like to donate to his underground tunnel, please contact him at 1-800-IAMGODZILLA.com. Thankee, sai.
