The website Mountain Meanders www.mountian-meanders.com (not the hiking group of the same name!) has a lot of information about Table Mountain and the Cape Mountains, including detailed safety notes, route descriptions, GPS information and more.

OpenSourceMaps (The Free Wiki World Map) is now available for South Africa. It allows one to view, edit and use geographical data in a collaborative way from anywhere on Earth and is a free. There is also an excellent Android version called OsmAnd and an associated contour line plugin. Well worth getting.

Cape Nature's website, with details of their Hiking Guidelines can be found at www.capenature.co.za . The TMNP My Green Card is available exclusively to residents of Cape Town, costs R80 and provides the holder with 12 free entries into any of the Table Mountain National Park’s pay points: Cape of Good Hope (Cape Point); Boulders Penguin Colony, Oudekraal and Silvermine, as well as to the braai and picnic areas at Tokai, Newlands and Perdekloof.
