On the theory side, I am interested in developing useful variables/processes to describe evolutionary phenomena at various scales. A current focus is to understand the proper mathematical framework applicable to the evolution of satellite DNA, chromosomes, and karyotypes.

I have a long-standing interest in butterflies and moths as empirical systems. I also developed "associated" interests in other insects and invertebrates, including their host plants (if any!).
