本研究室は、産業技術総合研究所との連携講座として、2023年11月に設置されました。

原子力災害や休廃止鉱山、自然由来重金属、新興感染症といった環境汚染や対策技術、窒素循環や海洋カーボン等の新規技術を対象に、環境リスク評価・管理やSustainability評価に関する研究、さらに各種技術の社会受容性や、ステークホルダー・エンゲージメントに関する研究を実施します。

研究室の運営は、産業技術総合研究所 地圏環境評価研究グループ、北海道大学 資源循環材料学研究室（佐藤努教授）と連携して進めます。

修士以上の学生は、産業技術総合研究所のRAとして給与をもらいながら働くことも可能です。

This laboratory was established in November 2023 as a collaborative chair with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology.

It conducts research on environmental risk assessment and management and sustainability assessment for environmental pollution and countermeasure technologies such as nuclear disasters, closed mines, naturally occurring heavy metals and emerging infectious diseases, and new technologies such as nitrogen cycle and marine carbon, as well as research on the social acceptability of various technologies and stakeholder engagement. Research on the social acceptability of various technologies and on stakeholder engagement is also carried out. 

The laboratory will be managed in collaboration with the Laboratory of Resource Recycling Materials at Hokkaido University (Prof Tsutomu Sato) and the Geo-Environmental Assessment Research Group of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).
