The Twin Ports Mustang & Ford Club was formed in 1998 as the Twin Ports Mustang Club and in early 2000 changed its name to the Twin Ports Mustang & Ford Club. It is the only Mustang club north of the Twin Cities. Members are from the Twin Ports (Duluth, MN and Superior, WI) as well as from the surrounding areas in Northeastern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin such as up the North Shore, various communities on the Iron Range and Ashland, Spooner, Wausau and as far away as the Twin Cities and the state of Iowa.
Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday January through November typically at the Superior Public Library in the winter months and various locations when the weather is nicer. Following the meeting members cruise together to area dining establish.
The club annually hosts at least one car show. The 2014 All-Ford Powered show was held on Fathers Day at the Belknap Plaza in Superior WI. The 2015 date has not been determined yet. We also cruise to Lundgren's Ford in Eveleth in July and Link Bros. Ford in Minong in August, where we are featured at their annual car shows. We are also working with Benna Ford and the Bong Center on a military vehicle and car show to be held in August. We are also working with Benna Ford to have a Mustang-only show May 3, 2014 celebrating the Mustang's 50th birthday. We will be hosting a Show 'N Shine with the Kitchen Restaurant for the Spartan Hotrod Project 31.
We are a sponsor of the Spartan Hotrod Project 31 and donated to libraries in the members' communities for the purchase of books related to Ford and the Ford family of vehicles. Fund raisers are held during our car shows for the following: Superior Salvation Army food shelf, Superior's Animal Shelter with Superior Animal's Voices (SAV) and the Humane Society of Douglas County and the Richard I. Bong Veteran's Historical Center.
