The Twin Ports Mustang & Ford Club was formed in 1998 as the Twin Ports Mustang Club and in early 2000 changed its name to the Twin Ports Mustang & Ford Club. It is the only Mustang club north of the Twin Cities. Members are from the Twin Ports (Duluth, MN and Superior, WI) as well as from the surrounding areas in Northeastern Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin such as up the North Shore, various communities on the Iron Range and Ashland, Spooner, Wausau and as far away as the Twin Cities and the state of Iowa.
Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday January through November typically at the Superior Public Library in the winter months and various locations when the weather is nicer. Following the meeting members cruise together to area dining establish. We cruise on the second Tuesday May through October meeting at the Superior Public Library's north parking lot and cruise area restaurants to dine and socialize.
The club annually hosts at least one car show. The 2015 All-Ford Powered show was held on Fathers Day at the Belknap Plaza in Superior WI.We also cruise to Lundgren's Ford in Eveleth in July and Link Bros. Ford in Minong in August, where we are featured at their annual car shows. We are also work with Benna Ford and the Bong Center on a military vehicle and car show held in August.
We are a sponsor of the Spartan Hotrod Project and donated to libraries in the members' communities for the purchase of books related to Ford and the Ford family of vehicles. Fund raisers are held during our car shows for the following: Superior Salvation Army food shelf, area animal organizations and the Richard I. Bong Veteran's Historical Center, and donate to club members' public libraries, so they can enhance their automotive collections.
