Twin Oaks Community Garden
Twin Oaks Community Garden is located on the SE corner of 14th Street NW and Taylor Street NW, Washington DC which borders the neighborhoods of Columbia Heights, Petworth and 16th Street Heights. The garden is owned by the DC Department of Parks and Recreation and is managed by a Garden Board made up of community garden members. Twin Oaks is on the South side of Taylor Street East of 14th Street.
Garden plots are 10 feet by 15 feet in size and are available to rent for an annual fee of $25. All plots receive sunlight during the growing season and water is available to all at the garden. Hand tools, hoses and watering cans are provided for gardeners. Current gardeners in good standing with garden rules are given first preference for annual renewals. If a plot is not currently available for you we will put your name on our waiting list for the next available opening. Plots may become available at any time during the year. Any DC resident may apply. All gardeners are required to volunteer time throughout the year towards the betterment of the garden and community.
Also on site is a food composting system open the community - sign up and compliance with DPR rules and regulations is required to obtain and maintain access.

There is a considerable wait list so you will be added to the wait list and contacted each year to confirm your status to remain on the wait list.
The wait list for 2024will be updated soon with currently 260+ people,
zero plots were assigned to new gardeners this season. A new wait list page will be added to this web site but the number of people waiting by year they signed up to help estimate where someone is on the wait list is below. Each year the wait list is refreshed
