Şule Gülpınar
I’m a PhD student in Psychology at Bilkent University and a member of the Bil-Cognition Lab. I study memory and future thinking at both the individual and collective levels, focusing on the mechanisms that support these processes. In particular, I examine differences in affective valence within these processes. I hold a BA in Psychology from İstanbul Şehir University and an MA in Cognitive Neuropsychology from Bahçeşehir University.
Şevval Yudum Tan Genç
I'm Şevval Yudum Tan Genç. I'm a Master's student in Cognitive
Psychology in Bilkent University. I have graduated from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Psychology program in 2023. In my undergraduation years, I have always had an interest in memory and learning relatedcognitive structures. After my graduation, I have worked in different laboratories that aims to understand how our brain works in terms of the cognitive processes. Now, I am mainly interested in how autobiographical memories retrieved in different contexts. Fidan Abdullayeva
Fidan Abdullayeva, Undergraduate student at Bilkent University. Main research interests are cognitive and clinical psychology, with a focus on how cognitive processes are affected by psychopathology.
Ayşin is a senior Psychology student pursuing a minor in Communication and Design. She is currently conducting her senior thesis on autobiographical memory and emotions, and previously completed an internship at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, where she worked on a project examining Working Memory Efficiency. Alongside her academic research, she engages in science communication as the host of the psychology radio program "Çift Kişilik" at Radio Bilkent.
Ariana Ghavam
Ariana is a senior psychology student at Bilkent University with an academic focus on cognitive psychology and autobiographical memory. Her current research investigates how different reflective strategies shape the emotional appraisal of negative personal events, and how temporal distance alters the affective qualities of those memories. Her broader academic interests involve the developmental and aging-related mechanisms underlying memory construction, the regulation of emotion during recollection, and the role of memory in psychological adaptation across the lifespan.
Sezin is a senior Psychology student at Bilkent University, also pursuing a minor in International Relations. She is particularly interested in projects that bridge these two fields, especially in areas such as political psychology, collective memory in international relations, and the psychology of peace and migration. Within psychology, her main focus areas are neuropsychology, cognitive psychology, memory, and community psychology. She is interested in exploring how cognitive biases, collective trauma, and memory processes shape decision-making, group identity, and international dynamics, both in academic research and practice.
Nursena Sarı
Nursena Sarı is a Junior Psychology Student at Bilkent University. Main areas of interest are Cognitive Psychology and Industrial & Organizational Psychology. She is particularly interested in how collective memory is formed and how it contributes to individuals' personality. Additionally, she is interested in the effects of different perceptions about collective memories on social relationships & teamwork.
