Welcome to my website

I am Tomoyoshi Shimobaba, Associate Professor of Chiba University. My research interests include three-dimensional display using holography, digital holography, wave optics, and special-purpose computing using field programmable gate array (FPGA) and graphic processing unit (GPU). I am a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), the international society for optics and photonics (SPIE),  the Optical Society of Japan (OSJ), the Institute of Electronics Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), and the Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers (ITE).

I received B.E., and M.E. degrees from Gunma University, Japan in 1997 and 1999. And, I received D.E. degrees from Chiba University, Japan in 2002. From 2002 to 2005,  I was a special postdoctoral researcher at RIKEN. From 2005 to 2009,  I was an associate professor in Graduate school of Science and Engineering, Yamagata university, Japan. I am currently an associate professor in Graduate school of  Engineering, Chiba University.

I was also a visiting researcher of Tampere University of Technology (Finland) in 2011, and a visiting professor of Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) in 2014.
