Current Title/Position: Teacher and Technology Director
Workplace: Gresham School District
Program of Study: MAE Educational Leadership License 051 Principal
Personal Information:
Currently I am the 6-12 Science Teacher and the Director of Technology for the Gresham
School District. I teach seven science preps, ranging from sixth grade General Science to
upper level Ecology and Biology II. I have created and arranged the science curriculum
according to national, state, and school standards while focusing on the needs of our students
and community. All of my classes that I instruct are full inclusion and have a wide range of
needs and abilities. This has strengthened my understanding of organization, patience, and
time management.
As Technology Director, I have created a team of individuals who have successfully
implemented one-to-one technology within our school district. Much research, planning,
budgeting, and cooperation was done in order to meet the needs of all students, teachers, and
staff. As technology/team leader, I guided decision-making from the ground up. I always
focused on the students and teachers when making decisions, since they are the ones who
would actually be using the devices. After three years, the successful implementation of
technology is complete. This initiative has made sharing of information, collaboration, and
learning more efficient and effective. Now that we have fully implemented our technology, as
director, I have focused on continued improvements, problem solving, and staff/student training.
I handle and work directly with the principal, superintendent, and business manager regarding
all technology related material (problems, concerns, budgets, personnel, etc).
Currently, I am seeking an MAE Arts in Education - Educational Leadership, Wisconsin Principal
Licensure - 51 through Marian University. My anticipated completion date is fall of 2016. I
aspire to work with the teachers, superintendent, and school board to focus on the school’s
mission and vision. As leader, I will cooperatively work with all stakeholders, and show care
and understanding of their ideas, concerns, problems, and suggestions. I am a trusting
individual, and I will be able to work well with others and manage a school that is effectively and
efficiently preparing students for their future endeavors.
