About the Band

Founded in 1985 by Director John Malvin, the Troy Community Band is a small traditional concert band that plays summer concerts in the gazebo at the City of Troy, Illinois at the Tri-Township Park.

The band also performs holiday concerts, and performs at retirement homes and nursing homes and for other venues; the band is available for other events.

The band plays a variety of favorites, including marches, orchestral arrangements for concert band, as well as more modern compositions for concert band, including concert band arrangements of jazz, ragtime favorites, and some pop songs.

We currently have about 30+ musicians, and would welcome more! Our members live throughout the local communities, and include enthusiastic members of all ages (high school age through senior citizens). No auditions are required; just bring your instrument! All musicians must be vaccinated against COVID-19
