I am a clinical neuroscientist with a research focus on the effects of cannabis on brain and behavior. In particular in relation to emotion processing. As well as addiction science and emotional processing disorders.
Academic positions
On finishing my PhD, I took a Faculty position in the Department of Psychology at the University of the West of England (Bristol, England), in Cognitive and Cognitive Neuropsychology
In July 2000 I resigned from my position to travel to the USA with my family.
August 2002-2017 I was Assistant Professor in the Cognitive Neuroscience program in the Department of Psychology at Colorado State University.
In July 2017 I relocated back to the UK to be closer to family and am currently a Reader in Psychology at The University of the West of Scotland.
Personal
I live on the stunning Rosneath Peninsula in the Scottish Highlands and get to commute to work on a Ferry!
Outside of the lab my passions are: My family, Snowboarding, Mountain Biking, my Fender Stratocaster, my two Border Terriers and my Chickens.
