WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA 12/19/2020

Troop 869 will be a sponsor for Wreaths Across America for 2020. On December 19, 2020, our Troop will be gathering with thousands of other volunteers Nationwide to lay wreaths at the Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Amelia Courthouse, Virginia. This will also serve as one of our main fundraisers for this year.

Wreaths across America is a national non-profit organization founded in 2007 with the goal to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery begun by Maine businessman Morrill Worcester in 1992.

In 2018, nearly 1.8 million veterans' wreaths were placed in total across the country. Two million volunteers participated at 1,640 locations nationwide. More than a third of the volunteers were children. All of this coincides with WAA's mission to -Remember, Honor, Teach

There are a couple of ways to support this program and the Troop. Go to our WAA Page and purchase a wreath. On December 19th, our Troop will lay your wreath at the Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Amelia Courthouse, Virginia.

For every wreath purchase of $15.00, $5.00 will be given to the Troop by WAA to support our Scouts and Scouting Program.

WAYS TO PURCHASE:

• "Sponsor a Wreath"- Purchase as many wreaths as you would like to be laid on 12/19/2020.

• "Honor and Remember"- You have the option of donating a wreath "In Honor of" or "In Memory of" to honor the service or sacrifice of a loved one.

• "Give a Wreath. Get a Wreath"- In your purchase of a wreath, you also have an option to purchase a wreath for yourself or a loved one at the same price, which will be delivered to your door. You can choose your date for the wreath to be shipped! PLEASE NOTE: Delivery fee for "Get a Wreath" will be applied at check-out.
