Eagle Scout: June 2012
Q. - Why Boy Scouts? What made you join?
A. - What attracted me to Boy Scouts was the wide amount of opportunity it offers. All the way from swimming to rock climbing. I was also drawn to the leadership opportunities scouting offers. My Father and his two brothers are also Eagle Scouts, so I guess it was my destiny.
Q. - What Did Boy Scouting do for You?
A.- Boy Scouts benefited me as I developed over time. The program has given me leadership skills that I was able to use both inside and outside the boy scout program. I even got to meet and make many new friends whom have had a positive impact on my life.
Q. - What advice would you give to younger Scouts?
A. - My advice is to get involved and start early. The earlier yo start in earnest the more lessons and leadership you will gain from the program. Going to summer camp, monthly camp-outs, and troop activities will help you get to know your fellow boy scouts. Just stick with it! Boy Scouts has impacted my life more than any other group or activity I joined. Go Boy Scouts!
Q.-What was your favorite experience or memory from Troop 47?
A.-That was summer camp of my 8th grade year. I took the climbing merit badge. It was an incredible feeling climbing the tower, conquering my fears and in turn becoming the one person to potentially save another scouters life as I held his rope line. Summer camp is full of great food, great weather, and many advancements surrounded by friends.
