Troop Mission
Troop 165 provides the Scout with opportunities, guidance, and a safe non-threatening environment in which each scout can grow and develop to his optimum degree as a young man. Perfection is NOT the goal -doing his best and learning from his mistakes is. Scouts learn to become responsible for themselves and others through learning common-sense skills, the importance of teamwork, participating in outdoor activities, and assuming roles of leadership and responsibility. We are pleased to welcome you and your son into our troop. As a troop, we promise him the great outdoors. As a Scout, he will learn how to camp and hike without leaving a trace and how to take care of the land. He will study wildlife up close and learn about nature all around him. There are plenty of skills for him to master, and then teach others what he has learned. Everyone helping everyone else, that's a part of Scouting, too. Scouting is an organized worldwide program that strives in many ways to help Scouts build character, foster citizenship and develop fitness, both in mind and body.
