Summary:
- We will be building a rocket control tower and once again Rocky will be in charge of tower security!
- We will be shooting rockets all day Sat
- RC is taking orders for motors (please refer to his email from 1/9 for more details)
- We will also open the range up to "Things that weren't meant to fly"
- Also, this year we will be having the first (and possibility the last) annual "Snake River Canyon Contest!"
- Evil Knievel couldn't make it, but I believe our scouts and parents can!
- We will have a short section of pinewood derby track set up to launch our pinewood derby ROCKET cars over our version of snake river canyon
- There will be awards for many classes of pine car rockets (Nicest before launch, Best crash and burn, Longest distance, Shortest distance, Most creative, Etc.)
- In one Jan. troop meeting we will pass out one kit to each scout (or parent) that would like to participate
- Also, this year we plan to install a troop geo-cache at our rocket camping location
- Each scout in attendance will be able to place a personal keepsake item in the cache to find in future years
- We will have a movie Sat. night
- Jumpie for the little ones and the big ones!
- Potluck desert on Sat. night
- Venture Crew's annual Sunday Breakfast
- Every year we cook a breakfast, which includes pancakes, sausages, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, etc.
- Different from previous years, we will not be allowing the purchase of the meal that morning. Instead we are requiring that you pay ahead of time so that we can prepare the right amount of food
- Venture Crew representatives will be at the end of the next two troop meetings (1/9 and 1/23, no meeting 1/16)
- Cost will be 5 dollars per person (children 5 and under are free)
