This workshop is an introduction to the basic concepts, movements and training techniques of the popular French discipline known as Parkour. Men and Women are welcome to join, free of charge.
DISCLAIMER: We are in no way claiming to be professionals, experts or instructors. We are simply sharing methods of training that work for us. Our way is not the only way. We encourage you to explore and try different things that may work for you. This is what Parkour is about. We cannot teach you anything. We can only share ideas.
Just like any physical activity, there are risks involved. You can get hurt. However, if you follow the guidelines that we have set and use common sense, your chances of injury are very minimal.
What you will learn:
Proper Warm-up and Cool-down
Basic and Mid-Level Conditioning techniques.
Precision Jumps, Cat Balance, Rolls, Spatial Awareness and Various vaults.
What you will need:
Clothing: It is important that you wear appropriate shoes for parkour. Flip-flops, Hi-tops(basketball shoes), and casual shoes are not recommended. Loose fitting sweatpants or shorts are great for parkour. Jeans, skinny jeans and skirts are not recommended. You are going to get dirty and you are going to sweat...alot. Don't wear anything that you don't want to ruin or that you cannot move around in.
Water: Hydration is extremely important. Especially before a parkour session. We advise that you drink plenty of water before, during and after training. Coke and Sports Drinks are loaded with sugar and caffeine and can aid in dehydration. Green Tea without sugar is a good alternative.
Small Towels: You live in Taiwan. You already know why.
Food: We cannot stress this enough. Parkour involves a great amount of physical exertion which requires fuel. We recommend bringing small sandwiches, granola bars, nuts, etc. Cookies, chips, and other high fat/sugar foods are not recommended. What you put into your body is what you get out of it. Believe it or not, filling your body with junk will greatly effect your performance in any sport. We will be moving locations quite often and given the amount of people expected to attend, we simply cannot wait for participants to stop and purchase food. So please do thisbeforehand.
Attitude: This is not a competition. I repeat, this is not a competition. Parkour is about pushing yourself and helping others to reach their potential. Everyone will be at a different level based on their previous training and physical ability. Try not to judge your performance based on someone else. Instead, focus on being the best you can be. Push and encourage those around you. Allow others to inspire you. Reckless behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstances. If you are interested in learning acrobatics, seek out a gymnastics instructor. If you are interested in showing off. Go to the beach or a nightclub. Parkour is hard and not all of it is fun and games. If at any point a person demonstrates inappropriate behavior, the workshop will immediately end. No exceptions. We are donating our time to share something that we love and hopefully it will spread across the island and become recognized as a legitimate activity. However, this cannot happen if people disrespect it, the environment and the people around them. Before you attend, you need to ask yourself, "Why do I want to train parkour?"
Clean Up: Self explanatory. Taiwan is your home. Keep it clean. Throw away your trash!
Questions: We encourage you to ask questions. However trivial you think it may be. Ask. However, ask someone to perform a move for personal enjoyment is not acceptable. We have nothing to prove. There are plenty of videos on Youtube to keep you entertained.

你需要什麼:
服裝:穿一雙適當的鞋子來訓練Parkour是很重要的,不建議穿板鞋、球鞋或一般鞋子。寬鬆合身的運動長褲或短酷是很適合parkour的,牛仔褲、緊身牛仔褲或裙子是不建議的,因為你將會弄髒或是被汗水弄濕之類的,因此請別穿你不想弄壞的衣物或是你無法方便移動的。
飲用水:水份是極度重要的,尤其對於Parkour課程,我們建議你在訓練之前、之間與之後喝大量的水,汽水與運動飲料充滿糖份與咖啡因會使你脫水,無糖綠茶是一個好的選擇。
小毛巾:你住在台灣,你知道為什麼需要它。
食物:這點真的很重要,Parkour涉及了大量的體能運動因此身體需要燃料,我們建議帶個三明治、麥片、或堅果之類的,但是像餅乾、洋芋片之類的高糖熱量的食物是不建議的,你吃什麼東西進去你的身體就會有什麼表現,信不信由你,當你吃了一堆垃圾食物進去,它們將會影響你在任何運動的表現。因為我們會常移動訓練地點,因此我們不能常常等人買東西,因此請務必事先就買好。
態度:這不是場比賽,我重覆一次,這不是場比賽,Parkour是要督促自己並且幫助別人發掘自己的潛能,每個人因為本身先前的訓練與體能狀況都有不一樣的程度,試著不要用別人的表現來評斷自己,反之,該專注在讓自己表現到自己能最好的表現,鼓勵與督促身邊的人,並允許別人激勵自己。魯莽的行為在任何情況下是都不被允許容忍的,如果你是要學一些空翻雜技,去找體操教練,如果你想要炫耀,去沙灘或是夜店。Parkour不是遊戲,是很艱辛困難並且不是全然有趣的,如果有任何人做了不適當的行為,工作室的這場聚會馬上停止,沒有任何例外,我們奉獻了自己的時間來分享我們熱愛的事情並且希望它能在這個島上擴展開並成為被認可的運動,但是如果在做這運動的人不尊重它或是不尊重周圍的環境,這一切都不會發生,在你要來之前,先問問自己,”為什麼我要練Parkour?”
整潔:自己應該明白,台灣是你們的家,保持清潔,把垃圾丟到垃圾桶!
發問:我們鼓勵你發問,不論是多小多瑣碎的事,但是如果是要求別人做一些動作,只為了自己想看,為了娛樂自己,是不被接受的,我們不用證明任何事,在Youtube上有很多影片可以娛樂你自己。
