I've noticed in a few spots around the neighborhood that the asphalt is chipping away from the concrete gutter in front of some houses. Not only is this unsightly as it allows weeds to grow from the soil underneath, it ruins the road and leaves room for more water and ice to get under the road surface, leading to even more cracking and crumbling asphalt.
The HOA does not own the streets in the neighborhood, and your dues do not cover street repair. The City owns the streets, and your taxes cover street repair. There is an easy way to request maintenance on the streets in front of your home. Just file a request online with the City Street Division, and they will come out and repair the street in front of your home. If you have a smartphone, you can use the GoCoSprings app for iPhone or Android to file your request with the City.
