THORNCOMBE MODEL RAILWAY EXHIBITION NOVEMBER 7th 2009. PRE EVENT PRESS RELEASE:

15 Exhibitors Plus trade support, Grand Raffle, refeshments, free parking and disabled access. Adults £2.50. All accompanied children FREE!
A year of transition:
This year is a year of transition for the members of T.R.A.C, Mike Sheasby who has steered the ship for the club for the past few years has handed over responsibility for the organisation of the above exhibition to myself, Chas May, also a long term club member. This will enable him to concentrate on what he really excels at, that of finding the superb speakers that visit us in Thorncombe every month. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Mike for all the tireless and oft unrewarded work that he has done to date. We would not have been as successful without you!
A different "Flavour":
Regarding the Exhibition next month, we have a distinctly different "flavour" to the range of exhibitors this year. Of course the major scales are all represented, but we also have seven exhibits that have not previously visited us, covering 009, American HO, 09 15" gauge, and the famous "Black Dog Mining Co. A stunning cameo layout of intense detail.
Trade support:
To back this up we have once again we have support from Buffers Model Railways of Colston Cross Axminster, Peco from Beer will be in attendance and secondhand railway items are to be found on Rod Saunders Stand also. Alan Corwood will bring a diverse and interesting range of railwayana, which can be purchased for surprisingly reasonable sums.
Grand Raffle:
One other thing which we are keen to introduce this year is a grand raffle. All our trade support and other local shops have kindly donated some superb prizes that should whet the appetite of even the most jaundiced of "rail interested persons". Maria at Buffers has very kindly agreed to donate a starter set amongst other things, this will surely be a perfect way to get a boy or girl on the road (rail) to railway modelling.
Family Tickets:
As is normally the case we are keen to promote the hobby to families as well as enthusiasts, so we are letting all accompanied children into the event FREE OF CHARGE. Adults £2.50. This represents stunning value for a family day out!
All in all a great exhibition in the offing! We look forward to seeing you all on the day.
