Play, Think, Make, and Play
Toy design must be simple and clear. That is what I am thinking and trying always.
There are a lot of basic design elements in toys. Toy design has potential to take any kind of barriers away such as language, generation, gender, knowledge, nationality and so on. And most importantly, it has power to make people happy.
In other words, you can design anything if you could design toys…maybe?
Sato Hisao is a freelance product designer based in London. His main category is toy design. In fact, he is thinking his works are not toys. It's something like "Playfulness objects" or "Tools for happiness". He just wants to make something fun for people. And then, people call it "Toys" eventually...... anyhow. He is more than happy when his works make a smile for someone.
