Zhen Tong

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT, responsible for managing development team, software development projects, Oracle HA production databases, and Sun cluster servers to provide technical solutions for 24/7 real time online reservation business challenges. He has over twenty years experiences in IT development, including mainframe, client/server, Oracle, Microsoft and Java/J2EE, with extensive expertise in software architecture design, hands-on n-tier OO programming, and network administration. Prior to working in Car, Parking and Lodging online reservation business, he worked in the GIS area, Oracle database and Computer Graphics. He was architect, DBA, project manager and lead programmer on a variety of projects. When he worked at Verizon Data Services (formerly GTE Data Services), he led a team, designed and implemented the system to provide Verizon with a complete GIS map of its service lines throughout the United States. He also engaged in image processing and analysis work with NASA/Martin Marietta on Space Shuttle fuel tank x-ray welding image automated inspections. His research and development work with AT&T Silicon-on-Silicon multi-chip module automated inspection systems was published on IEEE Transactions.

During his tenure as an Assistant Professor at Fudan University, one of China’s most prestigious university, he worked on a number of national research projects, in addition to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Computer Science Department.

His achievements include: Advanced Science and Technology Prize, Distributed Information Network and Database, 1987; Excellent Paper Award, First National Conference on Design Automation, “ERES Hardware Description Language & Simulation Methods,” 1988; and Advanced Science and Technology Prize, ERES-ET Computer Hardware Simulation and Verification Environment, 1992. He has over twenty publications on various proceedings or journals including IEEE Transactions. He earned certificates in Oracle DBA, J2EE Architecture Design and Programming, and Microsoft Visual Studio enterprise development. Mr. Tong is an IEEE Senior Member and Education Co-Chair at IEEE FWCS.
