宇宙航空研究開発機構 (JAXA)国際宇宙ステーション「きぼう」日本実験棟船外実験プラットフォーム第二期ポート共有利用ミッションの一つとして,雷放電および雷雲上空で発光する現象を宇宙ステーションから数年にわたって観測する GLIMS (Global Lightning and Sprite Measurements from ISS)ミッションの代表を務めている。
