Transportation Officer Candidate School Museum Exhibit

From May 1966 through February 1968 the Army conducted a Transportation Officer Candidate School (TOCS) at Ft Eustis, Virginia. The school graduated and commissioned 2,459 Second Lieutenants in the Transportation Corps (TC). The ramp-up of the TOCS program contributed roughly 75% of all TC 2nd Lieutenants during that crucial buildup for the Vietnam War. An exhibit at the U.S. Army Transportation Museum pays tribute to this critical Vietnam-era program. The Exhibit was dedicated on April 27, 2022. It features numerous donated artifacts, mannequins attired as an officer candidate and a cadre tactical officer (TAC), explanatory wall panels, giant photo collage, a narrated video, and a kiosk with names of all graduates. The project was led by MG (RET) Dave Whaley, TOCS class #24-66, COL (RET) Raymond Moot, TOCS class #6-67, 1LT Bob Flannery, TOCS Class #6-67, and MAJ (RET) Tom Levitt, TOCS Class #2-68.
