Criteria

INTENT: To establish an academic scholarship for a Thomas Jefferson High School graduating senior who plans to attend either a two-year or four-year college or university. Preference will be given to students who are looking to major in business or education. However, all college bound TJHS seniors are encouraged to apply. It will be a $1,500 award distributed during the winner’s freshman year.

New! In addition to the initial award, the recipient will receive $1,500 should they choose to participate in a study abroad program while in college. This is contingent on acceptance to a study abroad program and notifying the scholarship committee.

CRITERION: The primary purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a student who is most deserving of it. Students who apply will be expected to meet all the listed criterion to be considered eligible for the award.

The above will be demonstrated and verified by participation in the applicant’s related activities and accompanied by one letter of recommendation. The applicant will also be required to submit a short personal statement along with all relevant documentation of financial need.

The applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee: David, Dawn, and Elizabeth Bartolomeo (TJHS, class of 2000).
