Amendment for Consideration

The current bylaws of the District shall be amended as follows:

Article I - Name: The current sentence under this article shall be replaced by "The name of this organization shall be 'The Southeast District of the Unitarian Universalist Association' (District)."

The title line of the bylaws shall be "BYLAWS OF THE SOUTHEAST DISTRICT, UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST ASSOCIATION."

All references to "the TJD" or "the TJ District" or "The Thomas Jefferson District" shall be replaced by "the District" or "The District" as grammatically appropriate.

All references to "TJD" without an article shall be replaced by "District."

Note on Amendment

The bylaws require more than just the change to Article I. The terms "TJ District" and "TJD" appear many places. Plus the phrase "Thomas Jefferson District" appears later in the by-laws when discussing election of the District Representative to UUA. We wish to take a direct

approach with a specific name to be listed in Article I and the replacement of other references by "the District" or "District" as appropriate. As these are the bylaws of a specific district there is no need to internally use the name.
