I am Professor Emeritus of Mathemaitcs, retired from University of California, Irvine and from Uppsala University in Sweden.

My current engagements include:

• A number of research visits and conferences in USA, France, Poland, Israel, Italy, Russia, China, and India.
• Research collaborations in harmonic analysis, analysis on manifolds, calculus of variations, functional analysis and partial differential equations.
• Acting as referee for mathematical journals and reviewer for appointments, promotions, grants and prize nominations.
• I have recently published a second monograph on concentration compactness (see the Concentration Compactness page)

On March 30 2017, Professor Cyril Tintarev has opted to resign his position at Uppsala University, taking an early retirement from September the same year. It is his opinion that the terms of his employment imposed on him by Mr. Warwick Tucker, head of the Mathematics Department, became inconsistent with basic standards of scholarship.

This was not the first instance of forced ejection of a professor from the department. On February 8, 2007 two professors at Uppsala University resigned from their positions and were awarded with 2.2 millions Swedish crowns each. This happened as a result of their meetings with Anders Hallberg, Rector Magnificus of Uppsala University. Several more professors had to retire earlier than they wanted, or resign, under the office of Mr. Warwick Tucker including Andreas Juhl and Takis Konstantopoulos. All faculty that left this department in this pseudo-voluntary manner were scholars in good international standing born outside of Sweden.
