Living and Loving Life in your Seventies and Beyond.
(And a few tips on motorcycles, lifestyle and staying crazy.)
Food
I'm a Foodie. No excuses, no hesitation to admit it. And not only eating, but cooking, is one of my great passions.
My mom was of Italian heritage, my dad a Cajun. Didn't really have much of a choice. Food, in my family, is what we do.
Now I can do the complex stuff. Had some training in my time and know about emulsions, and food chemistry and complex layering of taste and texture. But for me, peasant food works best. Good, simple food, with fresh ingredients, done well.
So I'll share some recipes here and some foodstuffs that I like (and use myself) and maybe you'll find it interesting.
Or, better, tasty.
Music
Few things fill the soul as does music. And for those of us who've traveled the road of life for a while, it is especially satisfying.
Do you Play? If no -- why not? Don't give me the: "I don't know music" routine, either. At the age of 65 I decided to do something I'd always wanted to do: Learn to play Bass.
Now, I will admit that I've been a musician since I was 4 -- but as a drummer. Yes, I've studied music, played professionally in my time, but; never played bass. Guess what? I'm gettin' pretty good.
Will I ever play with Clapton? I kinda doubt it, I ain't Lee Sklar and never will be -- but I can jam and play locally, have an absolute blast and be fulfilled.
And, guess what? My hands are more nimble and my memory is better. HA! Go play.

The roadrashdaily.blogspot.com is my little blog on motorcycle trips, Club runs, life the universe and everything.
It started out as the journal of a cross country trip I took a few years back and has, in fits and starts, become a bit more.
