TIFFANY'S SCHOOL OF DANCE,LLC
GYM & CHEER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tiffany's School of Dance started out as Shirley Harwood's School of Dance. Shirley was the owner and instructor for 35 years. She began teaching in local community centers in Nettleton, Okalona, and Shannon. Her buisness grew so much in Nettleton that she decided to make it her studio home. I was a dance and gymnastic student of Shirley's School of Dance for 13 years. After graduating from Nettleton High School, I went to ICC where I was on the Indianette fall and spring line for two years. I also worked for Kathy Steele at her studio in Fulton while attending ICC. I then went on to The University of Southern Mississippi where I studied dance. In 1999, I worked closely with Shirley at her studio preparing myself to take over Shirley's School of Dance. In August of 2000, we opened up as Tiffany's School of Dance. In August of 2013, we opened up our second location up in Amory.
Since opening in 2000, I have been a member of the ICC's Summer Band Camp staff for 14 years, I have also choreographed for the ICC Indianettes. I have judged many local dance and cheer try-outs, including ICC try-outs. I have also been a color guard instructor for the Nettleton High School band, worked with some of the local majorettes, and I am currently the coach and choreographer for the Nettleton High School dance team who has brought home two state championships and has been accepted to perform at Disney World 3 times.
Over the years, I have taken dancers to compete at the IDC competitions, I Love Dance competitions, and Spirit Brand cheer and dance competitions. We have brought home many 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophy's and also a few grand champ awards.. Although I do take select girls to competitions, I do not stress competitions. I only take girls who I feel are not only physically and technically ready but who are also mentally ready to compete. I do not think a dancer's training should be based on competition. Dancers should train for the enjoyment and the knowledge of dance. This makes a dancer more rounded in her skillls with no pressure. This makes dance more fun and enjoyable.
I love what I do and I thank God for the talent and abilities that he has given me. I feel blessed to be a part of my students lives and I hope to continue
to teach dance and gymnastics for many more years. I want to thank all of you who have chosen me to be your child's teacher. I will always strive to better myself so that I am able to teach to the best of my abilities. I will always try to inspire each student to be their very best and to be dedicated in everything that they do.
