Coat Of Arms

        This is the Hughes coat-of-arms as illustrated in "My Family Memoirs":

This is my interpretation of the above heraldry description. 

The sword, the arm wearing armor, and the crown can represent royalty or leadership.  The red hand was commonly displayed on coat-of-arms belonging to members of the royal clan  O'Neill. The O'Neill coat-of-arms displays the right-hand, whereas, the Hughes' coat-of-arms displays the left-hand. The banner can be changed to an individuals preference, and I do not know meaning of  "H.A.P.V.E."
