The YAN Project
Welcome to The YAN project!
YAN is an intelligent Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV), built by three engineering students from the Electrical and Mechatronics Engineering departments at the University of Jordan. The project initiated in 2005 as a graduation project, which was supervised by the Scientific Research Department of King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB), and funded by King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD). The work on YAN consisted of two phases:
I- Establishing remote manual control over the vehicle, and
II- Establishing autonomous operation.
Currently, the UGV has the capability of detecting basic stationary obstacles ahead of it, planning its path to a certain destination, and driving itself to that location.
The story of YAN is best told through the pictures and videos in the links on the left. Thank you for visiting, and feel free to contact the YAN team with any feedback or questions you may have.
