Advertised in The Wizard of the North of 31st January 1885 under NEW MUSIC, but without any mention of an opus number.
In a press review of 13th February 1888, The Dundee Courier wrote 'Miss Pettersen's other songs were Grieg's "Good Morning" and a dainty song, new to us, by Mr J. More Smieton, entitled "Longing," to which the composer kindly played a piano accompaniment, which was a model of quiet taste and musicianly feeling.' This was quoted in a list of Testimonials and Press Releases devoted to the local soprano, Miss Resch Pettersen. Among the composers who gave testimonials were Grieg, Gade, Schulze, Gröndahl and Smieton.

O that I had wings like a dove: Anthem, etc. Published in a periodical called the Lute as No. 60 [1887] An aria with this title (a piece for Alto, described as being from The Deluge) was performed on 21st December 1875 at Panmure Villa. A second aria from the same piece ("In thee, O Lord, I put my trust" for soprano) was also performed.
Oor Queen will come nae mair: A Lament to a text by William Allen, Esq., M.P. Published by Paterson, Sons & Co., 36-40 Reform Street, Dundee. Dedicated To Miss H. O. Lennox. One copy is in Dundee Central Library Lamb 258. Written at the death of Victoria in 1901.
