What is cold pressed juice?
Cold-pressing is the most pure method of juicing using a hydraulic juice press. Pressing fruit or vegetables releases the juice, whereas normal juice extraction usually involves blades. Blades create heat when extracting the juice, which destroys the nutrients within the food. For example, one of the main nutrients that comes from juice is vitamin C and it’s sensitive to both heat and light. This is why cold-pressed juice is viewed as being healthier, compared to regular juice.
How long will my juice be fresh for and how should I store my juice?
Your juice is raw and unpasteurised and will last 4 days from collection, if kept refrigerated at 4C or below. I date conservatively to ensure maximum freshness.
You can freeze your juice to extend its life. If you choose to freeze your juice, please allow it to completely defrost before consuming in order to avoid a watered down taste, water thaws quicker than vitamins.
If you need to take your juices to work or out and about carry them in a cool bag with an ice-pack.
How do your juices differ from supermarket juices?
My juices juices are freshly made to order in Harpenden.
The juice you can buy at the supermarket is made in a process called “high-temperature, short-time pasteurization,” also known as flash pasteurization or HPP. The juice has to be processed this way to safely allow it to sit on the supermarket shelf for weeks (sometimes months) on end. In flash pasteurization, juice is heated to 180 degrees. This maximizes shelf life, but destroys the majority of the nutrients, vitamins, and enzymes naturally found in the fruits and vegetables. What’s left is glorified sugar and water.
Most supermarket juices are served in single use plastic packaging, I only use recyclable, returnable, reusable glass packaging.
Please please read the ingredients list. One well knows supermarket brands juice shot is ironically called the "ginger shot". It comprises 5% ginger puree and a 95% blend of apple juice and fruit concentrate. Essentially its apple juice. Which is fine - if they'd just call it that.
Then there are the super green juices touted as vegetable heavy. Check the ingredients, many are made up of up to 95% fruit with tiny percentages of vegetables. You can find the ingredients lists for my juices here.
Whats the difference between a smoothie and a juice?
Smoothies are made of blended whole fruits and vegetables. Juices are made by extracting only the liquid of a fruit or vegetable. This is why you'll never find a banana on our menu, you can blend a banana but you can extract juice from it.
Do you add water to your juices?
BIG no! I never add water. The juices are all 100% pure and raw. Try the juices to taste the difference!
Is a juice cleanse recommended if I have a chronic health condition that requires prescription medication?
If you are taking prescription medications for a chronic illness, always consult your healthcare professional before embarking on a cleanse. Keep in mind that while a juice cleanse may not be appropriate to partake in while on certain medications, you will find that many of my juices can make a nutritious, delicious and physician approved addition to your daily routine.
What should I do before/after my cleanse?
For those customers who wish to do a juice cleanse I advise that Sunday and Monday are "pre cleanse" days where you will;
Drink more water
Cut back on caffeine
Eat and drink more fruit and vegetables
Lean away from animal based products
Eliminate processed foods.
I recommend that you only eat light meals (such as vegetables and/or salads) for a couple of days after your cleanse, rather than make too many demands on your body by reintroducing dairy, meat or refined sugar too soon.
Do you use preservatives ?
No. The juices have no preservatives and are raw and perishable.
Why has my juice seperated?
Embrace the two tone. Separation is a natural process for raw cold-pressed juice. This is due to the different density of the ingredients that make up the juices and because they are natural with no chemicals or additives added! Most of the drinks bought off the supermarket shelf have stabilisers added in so the ingredients don’t separate. As long as the juice is kept refrigerated and it’s before the expiration date, the juice is good to drink. Just give it a good shake and enjoy.

Beetroot is a great liver cleanse! Celery will help to replace electrolytes and cucumber will re-hydrate.
How many calories are in my juice?
Calories aren’t bad for you – they are just a measure of energy! Please don't think of the cleanse programs or juices as weight reduction diet; I want to get you out of that mentality and see them as part of a healthy lifestyle.
What about fibre?
That/s a great question when it comes to juicing! Juicing is the process that extracts most of the insoluble fiber out of the fruit and vegetables while the soluble fiber remains.
What is insoluble fiber? Insoluble fibre adds bulk to the stool, helps to keep the bowels regular, fills you up and speeds up the passage of food through the digestive tract. This is mostly removed from the juice although it is still present in smaller amounts.
What is soluble fiber? When you remove the insoluble fiber and are left with the fluid part of the fruits and vegetables, it allows easier assimilation and absorption of the vitamins, minerals and other important phytonutrients across the digestive tract.
