New patients will be seen for an initial consultation prior to any procedure being preformed. During this visit the doctor wants to assess your situation. Why you are coming in to be seen?
Any Pain or discomfort?
Discuss any family history of gastrointestinal problems?
Or simply a routine colonoscopy?
If the doctor recommends a procedure then the office staff will schedule that said procedure in the office at the end of the initial consultation. The patient will be given instructions on where to go and on what date to get the procedure done. Any preparations and/or prescription(s) will be described to the patient prior to leaving.
If you are to get a procedure you will need a individual with transportation to drop off and pickup after the procedure.
After you have completed any procedure if any issues the arise the, the doctor will instruct the patient and/or his care provider to schedule a followup visit. This is scheduled at least one week after the procedure.
