9B Creag Dubh and Creag Liath

You can do these two Grahams from the car park at the end of the minor road heading NW from Newtonmore.

Follow the track W to Glenballoch, turning left and later keeping to the right hand path (the exit gate is at NN677989).

The bridge across the River Calder is unusable (see photo) but the river is relatively easy to cross. Head SSE up the grassy slope to meet the ridge path which is followed to the impressive summit. The views are extensive and deserving of a clear day.

Drop down NW to Glen Banchor then up (or behind) the ridge to Creag Liath. Come back SSE for a short way to avoid the crags then drop down ESE to meet the path on the E side of the Allt Fionndrigh. Follow this to the field behind Glenbanchor which can be cut across to meet the outward track.

Incidentally an example of the numerous Townships marked on the map hereabouts can be seen at the exellent and extensive mile long Highland Folk Museum at Newtonmore.
