19B Sgreadan Hill

After bagging Beinn an Tuirc, I drove back down the road to park at the hut at NR707282 where the Kintyre Way heads E. At the junction NR711282 bear left which comes to a new junction at NR716285. The objective is to get to an overgrown surfaced track which runs from around NR722287 to NR727286 then NNE to near the summit clearing at NR728290.

There is no easy way to get there as the intervening area is rough cleared forest. Initially I went E on the spur where a track alongside a stand of trees would go about half way (probably the easiest way). However I returned to the junction and headed N, and where the road turned L carried straight on to get to the forest edge which I followed ENE with difficulty including clambering over fallen trees. Eventually I came across the surfaced track which followed a waterway and met a similar track which lead NNE towards the obvious summit moorland area.

The moorland is quite rough and the track shown on the map is barely discernable, but leads to the fence which is followed to the summit. I returned by the same track but picked what seemed to be the shortest route to the forest spur road through the cleared forest and thence back to the car.
