The Jim Dotson Foundation was founded in honor of Jim Dotson, a man who spent his whole life giving back to his community. Jim was an active leader as well as founder of the St. Mathews Food Pantry; he was a marine veteran, and a Shriner for many years, he even often volunteered at the baseball games in the concessions.
We at the Jim Dotson Foundation want to carry on his work in the community. We are looking forward to continuing on a mobile pantry, to feed those who are less fortunate. We are also working on doing a backpack reach out where we will gather items most necessary to us to give to the homeless such as sleeping bags and hygiene products. Another way we help our community is by feeding the officers who keep us safe, we feed our officers quarterly during their roll call. Because of Jim's military back ground we enjoy helping our veterans as well, we are actively involved in the City of Jacksonville Military Affairs Stand Down for Homeless Veterans.
