LABORATORY FOR SYSTEMS BIOPHOTONICS

OPTICAL MICROSCOPY  |  SOFT IMAGING ROBOTICS  |  Optical AI  QUANTA BIOPHOTONICS  ARTIFICIAL VISION

The Jia Lab strives to innovate in ways that advance imaging science and technology that impact biological and translational research. We have expertise in a wide range of imaging instrumentation and techniques (our open-source and featured technologies), such as single-molecule biophotonics, super-resolution and light-field microscopy, imaging physics and instrumentation, imaging robotics, bioimaging materials, computational optics, and medical endoscopy. We collaborate with biologists, engineers, and physicians at Georgia Tech, Emory School of Medicine, and many other institutions.

We are actively recruiting postdoctoral associates, graduate students, and undergraduate students! We welcome applicants with backgrounds across all disciplines in Engineering, Physics, and Robotics. Graduate applications can be submitted via the GT BioEngineering program (BioE link), the GT/Emory BME program (BMED link), the GT Robotics PhD program (link), and individual PhD programs in ECE, Physics, CS, MSE, and ME. Graduate and postdoctoral applicants are encouraged to contact Dr. Jia (shu.jia@gatech.edu).
