Henry L. Green, MD, FACC, FACP

Henry L. Green, M.D., F.A.C.C. , F.A.C.P. earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies. He completed his medical residency and cardiology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association, and the American College of Cardiology.

He holds the rank of Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University and Michigan State University.

For five years he was a member of the Inter-Society Commission for Heart Disease Resources. This was a government-sponsored organization with representatives from most of the major specialty societies in the United States. The Commission established guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of cardiovascular disease. There he served as chairman of the Instrumentation Study Group, and as a member of the Advisory and Executive Committees.

Dr. Green has been chairman of the Intensive Care Committee of the Michigan Heart Association. He received the Grand Award from the Michigan Hospital Association in 1973 for the development of the Southfield, Michigan Mobile Intensive Care Program.

He has also been director of the Cardiac Care Unit Surveillance Project under auspices of the Michigan Association for Regional Medical Programs. The program was administered through Wayne State University and the Michigan Heart Association. This was a five year project that investigated the safety and effectiveness of cardiac care systems and devices in hospitals.

Dr. Green is an attending physician and member of the Academic Service of Providence Hospital of Southfield, Michigan. He has been named Teacher of the Year twice.

He has been the author and coauthor of over twenty publications, and has presented fifteen papers at national and regional medical meetings. He contributed three chapters to a textbook. He has chaired two national meetings. He has been a member of the editorial board of Health Devices, a publication of the Emergency Care Research Institute, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
