Booking

How do I book?

Please book by phone, email, text or Facebook messenger.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Only for groups of 5 or more, but please re-confirm your booking 48 hours in advance.

Do I need to book a particular time?

No. Usually The Flying Tearoom is open for 2 hours, but we’d recommend allowing at least 1 hour to enjoy your afternoon tea.

Preferences

I have some dietary needs; can you take that into account?

Yes, we can accommodate gluten-free, lactose-intolerance, or other allergies. Please mention this when booking.

Can you cater for halal or kosher?

Yes, please mention this when booking.

I am vegetarian, is that OK?

Yes, we can accommodate vegetarian, but not vegan. Please mention this when booking.

Can you guarantee nut-free?

No, many of the cakes are prepared with, or stored alongside, items containing nuts.

Is tea the only drink you serve?

We are happy to serve you coffee, cordial or water instead.

Can we add in some fizz?

You are welcome to bring your own bubbly. We can supply glasses if you let us know in advance.

Payment

When do I pay?

Please pay on the day once you have finished.

Can I pay in advance?

Yes, please contact us to learn more.

How can I pay?

Cash is preferred on the day. Bank transfer if in advance.

Do you accept card payment?

Sorry, but we are unable to accept card payment.

Can I book an afternoon tea for someone else as a gift?

Yes, you can pay in advance for someone else. Please contact us to learn more.

Booking Changes

I have an extra guest, can they just come along?

If you let us know 2 days in advance we can amend your booking.

But it really was a last minute addition?

They are welcome to join you and have tea but we may not have enough food to serve them a full afternoon tea.

What if one of my group can’t come?

If you let us know 2 days in advance we can amend your booking.

But it really was a last minute cancellation?

Your table will be charged for the number booked (as this is the number we catered for).

Who can come?

Do you have any age restrictions?

Well behaved children are welcome but please ensure they do not run around the hall. (There are hot tea pots being carried around!)

Can I book a child’s portion?

No, the afternoon tea is fixed per person

Do you provide high-chairs?

No.

Can I bring my dog?

Due to hall restrictions we are unable to allow dogs, apart from assistance dogs.
