All About Me
Effy started her career as a musician back in 2009 as Geoffrey. Due to copyright issues she was forced to change her name in late 2013. With the name change, all of her previous releases were pulled from the web.
Effy’s comeback year was going to be 2014 with her self titled LP ‘EFFY’. The albums first single, Better Than Before, released around November 2013. The single did farewell. The single introduced what would have been known as Effy’s huge permanent genre change. EFFY was heavily a rap album, with an R&B spin. The second single, Nothin’ But A H*e, didn’t do so well compared to the first single. Many previous Geoffrey fans wanted Effy to go back to her pop sound, and refused to listen to the new rap material. A third and final single was release, Made Of Money, around December, which oddly enough became an instant hit. The album released only weeks later after the third single, and ratings were poor. It was announced ‘EFFY’ was the worst album Effy’s ever put out since the 2011 Geoffrey disaster, Painful Memories.
After putting out ‘EFFY’, Effy revealed she was working on a second album. The album was said to be known as Effy’s real come back album. Effy revealed in an interview, “I am going to be putting my all into my next release. It’ll be known as my come back album. I know EFFY wasn’t so great, but I won’t dwell to much on it. Some of you actually like the album, and I appreciate that. My second album will not be rap, it’ll be a heavy pop/dance album. It’s really unlike anything I’ve put out before.”
With the final Effy album, 'Out Of This World', already released on June 24th 2014 Effy blogs about her life. She no longer writes nor records new music and resides in her hometown New York, New York.
