2:Now a message from Ahern's Student Council! 5th Grade was the winner of our Color Wars competition. The 5th grade voted and decided that next Monday's bonus spirit day will be... COZY DAY!
Let's count down the last days before winter break with our coziest outfits as we officially ease on into Winter!
1:Happy Friday! Today is the last day of bulletin-board decorating. The No Place for Hate club will be checking them out on Monday afternoon!
2: Today's lesser-known December holiday is Bodhi Day. Bodhi Day is on December 8th and marks the moment Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, becoming the Buddha.
1: For many Buddhists, it’s a day devoted to reflection, meditation, and simple acts of mindfulness. Rather than focusing on ceremony, the spirit of the holiday leans toward calm observation—acknowledging the possibility of clarity, compassion, and understanding in everyday life.
2: People often celebrate by lighting candles or lamps to symbolize the light of wisdom, sharing quiet meals, or spending time in study. At its core, Bodhi Day is an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the idea that insight often comes from stillness.
1: Soccer Club is coming back after break! There will be three sessions in January: Thursday the 8th, Wednesday the 14th, and Wednesday the 21st
2: Sign up is required, and opens at 9am on Mondays on the Ahern website

1: The challenge begins December 23rd and ends January 5th. Completed BINGO sheets should be returned to Mrs. Doyle by January 9th for a chance to enter a raffle to win $20 for the Scholastic BOGO Book Fair in March.
