The charts which follow illustrates the degree to which the critical texts agree with the Common Text. This agreement is expressed in terms of a percentage of the total text. The total number of words refers to the number of words in the Common Text. The variants for each critical text is the number of words which differ from the Common Text, words either inserted, omitted, alerted form, spelling, or word order. Changes in word order are counted as one variant for each displaced word. While verse and chapter division variations are noted in the apparatus they are not counted as variants as these were not a part of the original text. Punctuation differences also are not noted. Since punctuation does have some influence on translation the reader should only accept the punctuation herein tentatively. Likewise, the current use of capitalization was not a part of the original text and these variations are not noted.
