Step 1:
Each person in your group is going to select one positions listed below. You will play a 30 day simulation of The Lemonade Stand Game. After each 7 day simulation, you will rotate to one of the other positions so everyone will have a chance to make different decisions. A job description for each position is included.
Purchasing Agent - The purchasing agent will determine amounts spent on supplies to make lemonade to sell. The Purchasing agent will be in charge of the budget. The purchasing agent will be in charge of entering all of the quantities and prices for each item into the spreadsheet and creating formulas to keep track of the costs. The Purchasing agent is responsible for creating a chart or graph related to the expenses on the business spreadsheet.
Production Manager - The production manager will determine the recipe and price for the lemonade stand. The production manager will look at the daily weather conditions as a variable in determining the recipe (how much ice, lemons and sugar). The production manager will enter the recipe data for each day of operation into the spreadsheet. The Production Manager will responsible for creating a chart or graph related to production data from the spreadsheet.
Sales Manager- The Sales Manager will use the information provided by the Purchasing agent and production manager to determine the selling price each day. The accountant will enter the selling price into the spreadsheet and record the daily sales. The sales manager will be in charge of creating a chart or graph related to sales information from the Lemonade Stand operation.
Accountant- The accountant will be in charge of analyzing data and calculating the daily sales gross sales net sales, and calculating profit and loss. The accountant will relay this information to the other team members to improve their business decisions for the next days. , The accountant will be in charge of creating a chart or graph showing information related to sales, profits and losses.
Step 2:
The business partners will get together and decide on how they will format the spreadsheet for their business. A copy of a spreadsheet without any formatting can be viewed below. Your cells should also be formatted to represent numbers and currency. Remember to use formatting techniques to make your spreadsheet organized and neat in appearance. Use your knowledge of formatting to merge and center cells, column headings, cells, and anything else you can think of.

Step 3:
Play a 30 day simulation of the Lemonade Stand Game. Record all of your transactions for each day onto your spreadsheet. After each 7 days of the simulation, switch roles and repeat the process. After each day you should pause and analyze your information to help you make successful business choices for each of the following days.
*Because it is a 30 day simulation, two of you will have to play the game in your role for 8 days instead of 7.
Step 4:
After the 30 day simulation is complete you will begin analyzing your data on your spreadsheet. According to your last played role, analyze data that will be relevant to the chart or graph you are responsible for. You should consult with your business partners to check each others charts and graphs and offer suggestions. The charts should all be formatted correctly and the information presented in the chart will tell a simple visual story of different areas of your lemonade stand business.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO INCLUDE ALL OF THE DATA IN EACH CHART. SELECT ONLY THE DATA YOU WISH TO MAKE A CHART FROM.
