sweet, mineral and tropical fruit wine; great balance and acidity; mature
#2 2019 Chateau Peybonhomme-les-Tours “Energies” - aged in amphoras – another
effort to emulate ancient Roman winemaking; Merlot/Malbec;spice and
Prunes – soft – drinkable, may not age
#3 2003 Brunello di Montalcino – Conti Costanti - very ripe and past prime
#4 2019 Bergstrom Temperance Hill Willamette Valley; would not be mistaken for a
Burgundy – yet good soft layers that will develop and actually approachable now
#5 2016 Chateau L’Enclos Pomerol - soft, good definition, very young – great end
#6 2005 Chateau Sociando-Mallet; clean, layered, rich and balanced; still with
Tannins to shed – great end – shows the vintage well
#7 2009 Chateau Gruaud Larose - rich floral aroma; big and complex black fruits
with spice and some earthy notes – a great future here – shows vintage well
#8 2005 Chateau Gruaud Larose – restrained bouquet but opulent even lush
black fruit; balanced – still tannins to lose – full of the Chateau’s terroir
#9 1995 Chateau Gruaud Larose - sweet blackberry aromas; terroir of the
chateau most pronounced – lingers and lingers – 10 years to go
#10 2012 Cornas V.V. Alain Voge; white pepper on the aroma and palate; expansive
Fruits, rich and really balanced – a great Cornas that is at peak
#11 1997 Guado al Tasso – unfortunately this particular bottle very past prime;
brown and thin; as they say – drink up!!
