Vehicle Simulator & Trainer

Overview

Vehicle driving simulator is a complete tool for training and evaluation of drivers. This simulator can provide training and evaluation functionality on broad range of vehicles that include

• Light Vehicles: Sedan, SUV and Vans
• Buses: Coach, Minibus, Military Buses
• Trucks: Light-Duty Truck, Transport Truck, Water/Fuel Tanker, Dumper, 18-Wheel Trawler

Electronic Design

Vehicle Simulator uses a custom designed data acquisition card for realtime electronic signal analysis and data gathering. This DAC supports 8 analogue inputs and 64 digital inputs at one time and communicates with the computer using USB interface.

Mechanical Design

Our Vehicle Simulator is designed using real vehicle cabins. Our simulator can be configured with any vehicle cabin to provide the most realistic training experience possible.

Instructor's Operating Station

IOS is software associated with Vehicle Simulator System, it helps manage training regimen, collect data and represent data in meaningful information for results generation and further analysis. It communicates to and from the vehicle console via a network connection.

Instructor console is powerful software for training and analyzing performance of the trainees. Instructor can start and stop a number of exercises, monitor vehicle state at all times, alter the environment and create emergency situations when ever necessary.

Virtual Reality Based Software

Our virtual reality system has been created using only the latest research and technologies in the real-time 3D graphics industry. Our system uses the power or vertex and pixel shader technology to create most realistic and lifelike scenery. Apart from graphics, our system uses only the latest and advance technology for physics systems that give most realistic drive experience.

Scenarios

Capturing the look and feel of the scenarios (city, desert, hilly, highway, etc) is important to create the atmosphere of the virtual reality. Scenarios have been accurately constructed to provide realistic feel, actual images were used for the creation of buildings and landscape.

Weather Conditions

• Clear Weather: optimal and easiest environment for training with good visibility, sunlight and shadows
• Rain: virtual reality based system can be customised to create light/heavy rains reducing the visibility as per actual environment and altering the friction properties of road for tire slipping effects. When raining, raindrops are deposited on the windscreen making it difficult to see.
• Snow: light and heavy snow falls can be created to train the trainees in such extreme driving conditions. Friction properties of road are altered accordingly to provide appropriate training with the tire slipping effects. Snowflakes on windscreen make it difficult to see.
• Fog (Limited Visibility): Using variable fog effects in the simulator trainee can be trained to drive in light and dense fog effects, fog can be used to reduce visibility to as less as 2 meters.
• Day/Night Times: trainees are trained to drive in the day and night times, at night times trainees are trained in the use and importance of head lights, headlight beams and etc.
• Particle system: Particle systems are used to create effects like Dust Clouds, Smoke etc.
  • Mist/Haze Effects: Mist and haze are used to add realism in the virtual reality based environment for more accurate training.
