I was born in a small village in INDIA. I gained my Ph.D. degree on the topic of "Application Specific Specialty Optical Fibers and Waveguides" from Delhi Technological University, Delhi, India. During my Ph.D., I have worked under the excellent guidance of Dr. Ajeet Kumar and Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha. After completion of my Ph.D., I have been awarded the prestigious "National Post Doctoral Fellowship" by DST-SERB, Govt. of India in July 2016. I joined Advanced Materials & Sensors Division (Photonics group) at CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organization (CSIO), Chandigarh, as a National Postdoctoral Fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Umesh Kumar Tiwari for the period from July 2016 to September 2017. After that, I got an opportunity to work at Toyota Technological Institute, Nagoya, Japan as a Postdoctoral Fellow. I worked at Optical Functional Materials Laboratory, Toyota Technological Institute, Japan from 1 October 2017 - 30 September 2019 under the mentorship of Prof. Yasutake Ohishi. In Japan, I worked on the experimental realization of coherent mid-infrared supercontinuum sources, Four-wave-mixing, and OPOs using nonlinear fibers pumped with the femtosecond laser. I have been awarded the prestigious C.V. Raman Post Doctoral Fellowship in 2019 by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. I worked as a C. V. Raman Postdoctoral Fellow under the mentorship of Prof. VR Supradeepa at CeNSE, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore-560012, India, from October 2019 to March 2021. Topic of my research at the IISc was On-chip SiN based optical waveguides for mid-IR frequency conversion. After that, I joined Delhi Technological University, Delhi as a Guest Faculty at the Department of Applied Physics from March 2021 to May 2021. Then after, I Joined University of Southampton, United Kingdom as a Research Fellow. At the University of Southampton I worked on Raman scattering and four-wave-mixing in silicon core tapered optical fibers, Laser processed low-loss silicon based waveguides for mid-IR applications. Currently, I am working as an Assistant Professor of Physics at National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, HR, India.
Also, I possess teaching experience for more than three years from 17.08.2008 to 30.11.2011 as a Lecturer in the Department of Applied Physics, Satya College of Engineering & Technology, Palwal, HR. My current research interest includes Nonlinear optics & photonics, Integrated Quantum photonics, Specialty optical fibers and waveguides, On-chip photonic devices, and Mid-IR photonics. My more than 110 research papers have been published in reputed journals and conference proceedings (out of which 47 papers are in international journals (SCI & SCOPUS) and more than 75 papers in proceedings of International/National conferences).
I have been the recipient of the Best Paper Presentation Awards (Three times) on my excellent presentations in the international conferences organized by (i) IISER-Kolkata (2013); (ii) IIT-Kharagpur (2014), and (iii) IRDE- Dehradun (2014). During my Ph.D., I have been awarded various International Travel Grants to present his research papers at international conferences in the USA. I have also been awarded the “People Choice Award” for the demonstration of homemade optical models; during the Optics and Photonic conference 2013, San Diego, USA. I had served as a Facilitator in the SPIE chapter leadership workshop on 8 August 2015, San Diego, USA.
I have been the visitor at (i) Edward L. Ginzton Laboratory and Stanford Nano Shared Facilities (SNSF) at Stanford University, USA in 3–8 August 2014; (ii) College of Optical Sciences, The University of Arizona, USA in 19–23 October 2014; and (iii) The International Research Centre for Nanophotonics and Metamaterials, ITMO University (Saint-Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics), Saint Petersburg, Russia, 18–26 March 2017.
I have attended various training programs in India and abroad which include: (i) "SPIE- Winter School on Photonics," 26 – 29 December 2013; Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) -Kolkata, India. (ii) one-week school on “Siegman Int. School on Lasers” at Stanford University, USA, during 3 – 8 August 2014. (iii) Short term course under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-II (TEQIP-II) on "Laser Processing for Manufacturing: Technology & Applications" Course code-2015/TEQIPSTC/22; 11 – 13 September 2015, IIT Delhi, India; (iv) One-week Faculty Development Programme under Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-II (TEQIP-II) on "Environmental Pollution: Monitoring & Control (EPMC-2016)", 24 – 28 October 2016, Department of Environment Engineering, Delhi Technological University, Delhi, India.
I am a member of SPIE and OSA. Currently, I am also a member of Optics Advisory Board: Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK. I have been the President of SPIE DCE Chapter (2015) & Vice President of OSA DCE Chapter (2014) at Delhi Technological University, Delhi, India. I am an active reviewer of more than 25 internationally reputed journals in the field of Optics & Photonics. I received an appreciation from the Optical Society of America (OSA) for my dedication to quality scientific peer-review and for completing more than 5 scientific paper reviews during the 2017-2018 publishing season. I also have been the reviewer of International Conference Proceedings and International Grants.
