2013 Energy Day at Houston, Texas

Awhile back, I was invited by the Consumer Energy Alliance to receive an environmental sustainability award   for my science project. I was to receive it during Energy Day, at Houston. My family and I buckled up, and drove over to the Energy Day over the weekend of the last week of October. It was a 4 hour drive from Dallas, but having made the trip many times, it was a smooth drive. Upon nearing the energy day festival, I was immediately captivated. There were large, colorful booths with delicious aromas emanating throughout the air (although I wasn't quite sure what the smell was). Each of the booths were hosted by companies interested in displaying their way of reducing pollutants or contributing to environmental sustainability. Towards the end of the event, I was called up to the central stage of the event to receive my award. Although it was definitely exciting to get the award, I was ultimately more overjoyed by being able to experience Energy Day, and learning a lot of new things from it. Come 2014, I will definitely set aside the right date on my calendar for the next upcoming energy day.
