Starting from 2024 (March), TFU has introduced a Single Sign-On system for web based services (UniPa and Google Workspace).
Changes from previous sign-on methods
Single site to sign-in (https://sso.tfu.ac.jp/user/)
Only one campus issued ID can be used concurrently on a single browser
Multi-factor authentication required (from 2024/9/30) for off-campus access
An English translation of the complete Japanese user's manual can be found at the bottom of this page.
Quick reference for key points
Single Sign-in Homepage (https://sso.tfu.ac.jp/user/)
This page replaces the previous log-in for UniPa.
Your username and password should remain unchanged from the previous system.
When you need to sign-in to your TFU Gmail account, you will be redirected to this page to enter your password. You will be able to navigate to your TFU Gmail from the SSO navigation homepage.
Only one campus issued ID per browser
If you have a second university issued ID (for example, a tfu-us.ac.jp account), you will need to use a separate browser or browser window to sign in to both accounts concurrently. Google Chrome is very convenient for this.
Multi-factor authentication
From 2024/9/30, Multi-factor authentication will be required for signing-on from off campus.
There are two options: email verification or the Authenticator app (Google Play or Apple App Store).
To set up Multi-factor authentication
Sign-in using the above Single Sign-On page
Click on the hamburger button (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner
Choose ワンタイムパスワードの設定 (One Time Password Setup)
Choose either the Authenticator app or Email option and complete the setup for multi-factor authentication (See section 3 in the manual for full details)
Choose only one multi-factor authentication method
Once you have setup multi-factor authentication, you will need to use it to sign-in from off campus.
It will be required from 2024/9/30
